Their investigation is still ongoing, but police say that the two victims were waiting for a bus along Millenia Boulevard when a Ford Focus struck them as they sat on a bench. The victims are a vacationing couple from England, who were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center. Witnesses report that they saw a black Ford Focus and black Honda Accord speeding along Millenia Boulevard just before the accident occurred.
Burglary Suspects Face Additional Charges After Accident on Florida Turnpike
Two men that were charged with a variety of crimes in connection with a string of auto burglaries will now face additional charges stemming from a high-speed chase and accidents they caused on the Florida Turnpike. Law enforcement officials who have been working on the car burglaries say that the two men belong to a burglary ring they have been calling “Felony Lane.” The driver of the car that led police on the chase and caused three accidents is 23-year-old male. He faces charges of resisting arrest, aggravated fleeing and eluding and three counts of leaving the scene of an accident with bodily injuries in addition to grand theft and auto burglary charges.
FHP Looking for Motorcyclist in Connection With Fatal Florida Hit-and-Run Accident
Florida Highway Patrol troopers are looking for a motorcyclist who may have caused a fatal hit-and-run accident with another motorcyclist in Lake County recently. The accident that killed a 54-year-old Orlando man occurred around 6:00 p.m. one recent evening on County Road 48 a bit east of U.S. Highway 27. Troopers report that they are looking for the rider of an orange or maroon Harley-Davidson Soft Tail Classic that likely has damage on each side. They report that the hit-and-run rider was wearing a black helmet at the time of the accident and probably has lacerations on his back and arms from the accident.
Alcohol a Possible Factor in Fatal Florida Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accident
Polk County Sheriff’s deputies are still conducting their investigation into a hit-and-run bicycle accident in Lakeland that killed a 51-year-old man but claim that they suspect alcohol was a contributing factor. They report that the victim was struck and killed while riding his bike near Deeson Road and Cherry Road around 1:30 a.m. one recent morning. They arrested a 21-year-old Lakeland man in connection with the fatal accident after a local resident found the victim lying in the middle of Deeson Road.
U of F Student Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accident
A University of Florida student is receiving care at Shands at the University of Florida and hospitalized in extremely critical condition after she was struck and injured in a recent hit-and-run bicycle accident. Accident investigators say that the 21-year-old woman was riding her bike near Southwest 16th Avenue near Archer Road when she was struck by a driver who fled the accident scene without stopping to help. She is being treated for severe head trauma, a broken arm and two broken legs, according to a Gainesville Police officer. He reports that a vehicle believed to be involved in the accident has been recovered, but no arrest has been made in connection with the incident.
Orlando Area Doctor Faces Charges In Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident
An Orlando chiropractor has been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motorcycle accident in February that claimed the life of a Fort Myers woman. The Lake Mary doctor who describes himself as one of Central Florida’s top doctors was booked into the Seminole County jail recently but released shortly thereafter on $50,000 bail for his involvement in the Feb. 26 hit-and-run motorcycle accident that killed the 50-year-old rider.
FHP Requests Help From Public on Fatal Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident
Florida Highway Patrol officers are requesting that those who may have seen a recent fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident come forward with any information they may have. Accident investigators say that the accident occurred near the intersection of Semoran and Old Cheney Highway in east Orange County. They say an adult male pedestrian was crossing Semoran east-to-west when he was struck and killed by a black Jeep Wrangler. They say that after the jeep struck the man, the driver immediately fled the scene to avoid taking responsibility.
Hit-and-Run Accident Kills Florida Woman, Critically Injures Teenager
A woman was killed and a teenager critically injured in a bizarre hit-and-run accident in a neighborhood that has been plagued with pedestrian and bicycle accidents for many years. Many details about the fatal pedestrian accident remain unknown while the accident investigation is underway, but police say the 22-year-old woman and 16-year-old boy were lying in the roadway in Altamonte Springs around 9:00 p.m. on October 11 when they were run over by a car or SUV that fled from the scene after the accident.
Florida Man Reports Fake Robbery to Cover Up Involvement in Hit-and-Run Accident
A local man who often works as an emcee at clubs and parties is facing charges in Osceola County for reporting a fake robbery to police in order to cover up his involvement with a hit-and-run accident. Sheriff’s deputies report that they were called recently to interview a man at Osceola Regional Medical Center who claimed he had been assaulted and robbed the night before. The man told the deputies that he had been working as an emcee at a party on Kimberlee Lane in Kissimmee the previous evening when he drank too much and passed out.
