Woman Arrested in Ormond Beach Hit-and-Run
An Ormond Beach woman was arrested on Friday night in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that took place only hours earlier. According to the Florida Highway Patrol’s report, the 25-year-old Jessica Struthers was on her way home from work when she claims she stopped in at a bar for a drink. Struthers statement to the police alleges that she consumed one mixed drink and two shots during a two-hour period of time and that afterwhich she left the bar to go home. Read the rest »
FHP Searching for Driver Behind Orlando Hit-and-Run
Early on Friday morning, near the intersection of Hoffner Avenue and Redditt Road in Orlando, a young woman was walking along the shoulder of the street when she was struck and killed by a passing car. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman, the 21-year-old Jessica Esteras, was an Orlando resident. It is believed that the car collided with her sometime around 3:30 in the morning. At the scene of the accident, the Florida Highway Patrol reported that a side-view-mirror and some other fragments were found. It is believed that these fragments may come from a Chevy, although the debris did not provide much more information than that. Read the rest »
Car Crashes into Motorcycle in Orlando, Flees Scene
On Friday, a man driving near where OBT and the Central Florida Parkway intersect collided with a motorcycle. The impact of the collision caused the bike to break in half and badly injured the driver of the motorcycle. Rather than stop after the collision, the driver of the vehicle sped away, forcing the Florida Highway Patrol to track him down. This, however, proved to be less difficult than it appeared as the driver responsible for the initial collision was discovered only a half-mile away from site of the accident. He had, in his attempt to flee, collided with an electrical pole. Similarly to the impact with the motorcycle, the collision between the car and the pole resulted in the pole breaking in half. Federal Agent Killed in Miami Hit-and-Run Crash
In an unfortunate accident on Friday, January 15th, 2016, a Gulfport native was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Miami’s South Beach. The victim, a man of roughly 41 years (his age has not yet been confirmed), was on duty as a federal agent at the time.

Fatal Windermere Hit and Run Collision
Florida Highway Patrol troopers have announced that they have filed charges against a driver who fatally injured a woman in a recent head-on hit-and-run accident in the Windermere area. Troopers say that a 25-year-old Windermere man was driving a Honda pickup truck on County Road 535 when he rear-ended a car waiting at a stoplight at the intersection of Summerport Village Parkway. The impact pushed the car into two other cars at the light, damaging them both.
