Pedestrian Hit, Killed by Truck in Volusia County
Officers with the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a collision between a pickup truck and a pedestrian this past Thursday morning. The report that was subsequently filed by the police details how the incident, which involved a Dodge pickup being driven by a 34-year-old woman from Chuluota and a 27-year-old Deltona man who was on foot, occurred at close to 5:30 in the morning, just as many people were beginning their work days. Coco Police Officer Strikes Pedestrian with Patrol Car
A police officer working for the Cocoa Police Department was on duty just after 9:00pm on Friday night when they received an emergency report of a suicide attempt that was in progress. The officer immediately responded to the call and began to speed towards the area indicated. As they made their way down the road, they approached the intersection of Lake Drive and Cleralake road. Pregnant Woman Struck and Killed by Car in Pine Hills
Around 5:45 on the morning of Wednesday, February 28th, a 20-year-old Orlando resident was on foot in the Orange County town of Pine Hills as she walked near the intersection of North Powers Drive and Silver Star Road. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was walking on the sidewalk before the condominium complex known as Oak Shadows when, for reasons that are not totally clear, she walked into the road. Palm Bay Students Struck by Cars in Separate Incidents
In two separate and alarming incidents in Palm Bay, two students from different schools were struck by passing vehicles last Thursday. In one of the accidents, the driver of the vehicle responsible for the collision attempted to flee from the scene, but were subsequently captured by Palm Bay deputies. According to the report from the Palm Bay Police Department, the first of the accidents happened just before 7:00 in the morning, as a 5-year-old student of the Odyssey Charter School and his father were crossing a crosswalk at the entrance of the school. Pedestrian Struck by Jeep at Orange County Intersection
A crash between a pedestrian and a Jeep SUV that took place in Orange County on Monday evening is still under investigation by the Orlando Police Department as they attempt to unravel the events of the evening and the situation that led to the accident which left one person dead. According to the report issued by the Florida Highway Patrol, Jesus Magadan Palacios was walking across the intersection of Oak Ridge Road and Defiance Avenue at around 9:10 on Monday evening when he was struck by the Jeep. It is not known where Palacios was coming from, nor is it clear where he was headed.
