Unnamed Pedestrian Struck by Car in Orlando
On Monday, an unnamed woman was walking across a South Street in Orlando when she was hit by a car. The details around this case are not yet fully fleshed out, however there are a few facts that the Orlando Police Department has seen fit to release. It seems that the accident happened around 1:30 in the morning, just west of the intersection of South Street and Bumby Avenue. The Orlando Police department said that the victim of the accident, a woman whose name and age have not been released, was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center for attention. Child Wanders from Orlando Hotel, is Struck and Killed by Passing Van
Due to events that the Florida Highway Patrol is still attempting to unravel, a 4-year-old boy with special needs was hit by a van at 2:00 on Friday morning after he apparently made his way into the street from the hotel where he and his parents were staying. The statement filed by Sgt. Kim Montes states that the boy, named Kiyan Tomlin, was visiting Florida with his parents. Traveling from Brooklyn, New York, the family was staying at the Extended Stay America Hotel in Orlando. The hotel is located near John Young Parkway and Sand Lake Road, which is where the accident that resulted in the young boy being killed took place. Read the rest »
Orlando Accident Leaves 73-Year-Old Dead
On Thursday evening in Orlando, Jose Matos Vargas, a 73-year-old man, was pushing his mother across the street at the intersection of Goldenrod Road and Charlin Parkway when he was struck by an oncoming car. The Orlando Police Department is currently investigating the situation, but according to their initial report the accident, which happened around 5:30 in the evening, took place at the intersection (situated between Pershing Avenue and Hoffner Avenue) when Vargas was behind his mother’s wheelchair, navigating her through the crosswalk. Orlando Woman Dies in Pedestrian vs Vehicle Accident
An Orlando woman recently died from injuries sustained after being hit by two vehicles on Interstate 275. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 23 old female was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped on the northbound side of the interstate, near mile marker 23. For yet unknown reasons, the female ran west across the interstate, at which point she was hit by a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 53 year old female and a 2009 Toyota Highlander that was driven by a 45 year old female. Atlantic Beach Woman Facing DUI Manslaughter Charges After Fatal Pedestrian Accident
A 44-year-old woman from Atlantic Beach was arrested this week after a toxicology report proved she was under the influence of alcohol when she struck and killed a pedestrian in an accident on May 9th, 2015. The victim was a 24-year-old man who was on vacation in Jacksonville.

Pedestrian Killed on Florida Avenue
A woman was killed on Florida Avenue in Tampa last week, while walking in the outer/bicycle lane, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Authorities have said that the driver did not see the woman before hitting her. The woman was transferred to Tampa General Hospital, and died shortly after because of her injuries.

Girl Struck by Truck and Fatally Injured in Orlando Pedestrian Accident
A 10-year-old girl has died from her injuries after being struck by a utility truck while walking home from school. Accident investigators say that the girl was walking home from Ventura Elementary School with her 15-year-old sister when she was struck by an Orlando Utilities Commission truck. Florida Highway Patrol troopers are still conducting their investigation into the accident but say that the accident occurred at Pershing Avenue and Wildhorse Road in east Orlando. They say that the 63-year-old truck driver was making a left turn on a green light when his truck was struck by an oncoming vehicle driven by a 53-year-old man. The force of the impact caused the truck to strike the victim, resulting in a traumatic brain injury.
Orlando Police Issuing Tickets to Prevent Pedestrian Accidents
Orlando police officers and Orange County deputies have begun issuing tickets to drivers who don’t yield to pedestrians in crosswalks. Law enforcement agencies in our area recently rolled out Operation Best Foot Forward as part of a concerted effort to cut down on the number of people killed and injured in pedestrian accidents in Orange County and the City of Orlando. Undercover officers have begun strolling across crosswalks at intersections throughout Orange County and sending offenders to uniformed officers nearby to receive tickets.
