Seminole County Deputy Struck by SUV on State Road 417
During the early hours of Friday, January 29th, numerous members of the Florida Highway Patrol and the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene of an auto accident that took place along State Road 417, close to the intersection between this street and Red Bug Lake. As a result of this crash between a Lexus and a Ford (which we have detailed in another post), large stretches of State Road 417 were closed to travel and members of the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office were posted along various parallel roadways in order to assist in the rerouting of traffic. Family Rescued After Car Crashes into Orlando Retention Pond
On Thursday, December 10th, a 44-year-old individual was driving a red Nissan Sentra, his two children in the vehicle with him, when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a retention pond. It was close to 7:30 at night when the 44-year-old and his children were traveling close to Lee Vista Boulevard and Vista East Parkway. It was dark, and so the trio were not able to anticipate the sudden appearance of an animal running across the roadway. In order to try and avoid striking the animal, the driver of the car jerked the wheel of the Sentra, a situation which caused him to lose control of the vehicle. Read the rest »
Shed Crashes Onto Car in Orange County
On this blog, we frequently write about accidents involving cars striking cars, cars striking pedestrians, cars striking motorcyclists, and cars striking buildings. Rarely, however, do we write about an incident where a building is the one colliding with a car. Motorcyclist Dies After Crash with Dump Truck in Marion County
Early in the morning on Friday, October 9th, an accident took place in Marion County that resulted in the death of a motorcycle rider. Reports from the Florida Highway Patrol stated that the incident took place shortly after 6:30 in the morning. At this time, a motorcycle being driven by a 45-year-old man from Dunnellon, was traveling down State Road 40, heading towards the intersection with SW 113 Terrace, close to where the city limits of Ocala begin. St. Cloud Crossing Guard Struck by Car
Every day that children walk to and from school, crossing guards stand at intersections to ensure that drivers are aware when pedestrians are present and to safely ferry the kids across the street. These crossing guards wear reflective gear and hold stop signs, making them fairly easy to see. All of this makes it surprising that an incident took place shortly after 8:00 in the morning on Thursday, October 8th, involving a car striking a crossing guard within the city of St. Cloud. Pickup Truck Strikes and Kills Pedestrian in Daytona Beach
An ongoing investigation into a fatal pedestrian accident within the city of Daytona Beach has found that an elderly pedestrian who was attempting to cross the roadway was not within a crosswalk at the time of the crash. Sedan Driven by 90-Year-Old Crashes Through Bradenton Bank
Customers of a bank located within Central Florida were standing in line on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 8th, when an extremely unexpected car accident occurred. It is usual for people standing in a line inside of a building to look out for other individuals attempting to cut into the line. Florida Rollover Accident Claims the Lives of Two Men in Broward County
Homicide detectives with the Davie Police Department have started an investigation into a fatal rollover collision that occurred in Broward County on August 11th, 2020. Preliminary reports indicate that the deadly crash happened along University Avenue after a motorist turned directly into the path of an oncoming vehicle. Orange County based members of the Florida Highway Patrol are looking into an automobile accident that resulted in the death of an Orlando resident on the night of Monday, July 27th.
