Man Was Ejected From Vehicle, Run Over and Killed in Orlando

Shortly after 12:30 on Thursday morning a 25-year-old Kissimmee resident named Matthew Adams was driving his 2016 Volkswagen in the westbound lanes of I-4, near Orlando and the Beachline, when he suddenly swerved out of his lane and crashed into a 2001 Ford SUV. According to the Florida Highway Patrol’s spokesperson, Sgt. Kim Montes, the SUV was being driven by an unnamed 28-year-old man from Lake Mary. The unexpected impact between the two cars caused both drivers to lose all control of their vehicles. Both cars began to flip across the highway, sending debris and glass flying through the air. Child Wanders from Orlando Hotel, is Struck and Killed by Passing Van

Due to events that the Florida Highway Patrol is still attempting to unravel, a 4-year-old boy with special needs was hit by a van at 2:00 on Friday morning after he apparently made his way into the street from the hotel where he and his parents were staying. The statement filed by Sgt. Kim Montes states that the boy, named Kiyan Tomlin, was visiting Florida with his parents. Traveling from Brooklyn, New York, the family was staying at the Extended Stay America Hotel in Orlando. The hotel is located near John Young Parkway and Sand Lake Road, which is where the accident that resulted in the young boy being killed took place. Read the rest »

Orlando Rear-End Collision Kills 2

A rear-end collision that occurred in Orlando on Thursday has left two people dead.  The accident is reported as having taken place shortly before 2:30 on Thursday morning at the intersection of Buck Road and Dean Road.  A witness to the incident stated that she heard the accident from within her home, grabbed her phone, and ran out through the garage to see what happened.  She describes seeing a 2013 Hyundai Sonata in her front yard, coiled around large tree. Orlando rear end collision leaves two dead, two injured

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports that two people were killed and two injured during a two vehicle crash that happened in Orange County near Orlando, Florida. According to the FHP, the accident happened early Thursday at around 2:30 am near North Dean and Buck roads. Although the investigation continues and little details are known, it has been confirmed that one vehicle was stopped at a red light when it was rear-ended by the second vehicle. In total, five people were involved in the crash, although it is unclear how many were in each vehicle. Read the rest »

Orlando Accident Leaves 73-Year-Old Dead

On Thursday evening in Orlando, Jose Matos Vargas, a 73-year-old man, was pushing his mother across the street at the intersection of Goldenrod Road and Charlin Parkway when he was struck by an oncoming car.  The Orlando Police Department is currently investigating the situation, but according to their initial report the accident, which happened around 5:30 in the evening, took place at the intersection (situated between Pershing Avenue and Hoffner Avenue) when Vargas was behind his mother’s wheelchair, navigating her through the crosswalk. Driver Killed in Orlando Automobile Accident

One person was killed last weekend in a one vehicle crash that happened in Western Orange County. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Hartzog Road, just two miles from Walt Disney World and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While traveling west towards Avalon Road, the driver failed to properly negotiate a curve, causing his Nissan to overturn, strike a small tree and eject the driver. 6-Year-Old Injured in Orlando Traffic Incident

A traffic accident in Orlando on Saturday resulted in a 6-year-old girl being hospitalized.  The accident, which is still under investigation, seems to have resulted from the young child being aboard a mini-bike being driven by her mother’s boyfriend when they were hit by another car at the intersection of Rio Grande Avenue and Rose Boulevard close to 11:00 in the morning.  Of particular interest to the authorities in this instance is the mini-bike itself, which was immediately recognized as a piece of homemade equipment and therefore not legally allowed to be traveling along the roadways which it was on at the time of the incident. Head-on Collision Leaves One Dead in Osceola County

At least one person was killed Thursday in a head-on collision in the Orlando area. The fiery crash happened on State Road 60, about three miles west of Yeehaw Junction near Mae Bass Road, in remote Osceola County. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a five door Lexus was driving east on State Road 60 when it crossed the center lane, hitting a westbound tractor trailer – a head-on collision that caused the Lexus to flip and burst into flames. Orlando Man Dies in Four Car Crash

A crash in Orange County on Wednesday has left one 30-year-old man from Orlando dead and several others with injuries. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place at 6:30 on Wednesday evening. The cars involved were headed eastbound on State Road 408, close to the popular road’s 18th mile marker. The statement issued by the Florida Highway Patrol fleshes out the story somewhat, although there is still an ongoing investigation into the precise reasons behind this deadly accident. So far, it seems clear that the crash was instigated by a GMC pickup truck that was being driven by the 45-year-old Winter Park resident Jesus Otero. Read the rest »
