Lakeland Police Officer Killed in Early Morning Motorcycle Crash
Reports are emerging from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office regarding a motorcycle accident that took place early in the morning of Thursday, January 9th, and resulted in the death of an officer working for the Lakeland Police Department. The officer in question, a 50-year-old individual who had been with the Lakeland Police Department since 2013, was on-duty and aboard their department-issued motorcycle when the crash occurred close to the intersection of Lake Miriam Drive and Lakeland Highlands Road.
Pedestrian Killed, Police Cruiser Damaged in Two Tampa Accidents
Close to Tampa on the morning of Thursday, December 5th, a pedestrian accident occurred either near or in the road close to the intersection of U.S. 19 and Main Street. It is not believed that the pedestrian was at this intersection, rather, the reports indicated that they were somewhere south of the Main Street intersection.

Early in the morning of Monday, November 11th, a person was on foot, walking along Interstate 95 in Volusia County. The reports indicated that the area where this individual was walking was not one typically associated with pedestrian traffic, and that the person was on foot and walking through the area after suffering from a single-car collision.
One Killed in Collision with Tree in Volusia County
A collision that took place within Daytona Beach on Wednesday, October 9th, resulted in the death of a 41-year-old individual. Orange County Police Officer Involved in Three-Car Crash
Reports from the Orlando Police Department are currently lacking much information regarding a car accident that took place on the morning of Tuesday, July 30th, that involved numerous vehicles, including one being driven by an officer with the Orlando Police Department. At this time, what we know is that the crash took place in the eastern lanes of State Road 408, although the exact time of day that the crash took place is not clear, nor is the condition of any of the individuals who were involved in the accident.
Motorcyclist Killed in Marion County after Rear-End Collision with Honda
Reports emerged from Marion County on the afternoon of Friday, July 5th, regarding an accident that took place when a motorcycle collided with the rear of an SUV while traveling down State Road 40. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, where the initial reports came from, the motorcycle accident took place shortly before 2:30 in the afternoon, when a 60-year-old individual was riding their Harley-Davidson without a helmet. It is not known if this person was obeying the speed limit at the time of the crash, but it was reported that they were approaching a stoplight when the accident took place.
Two Car Crash in DeLand Critically Injures Single Person
A car accident that took place within the city of DeLand resulted in one person being rushed to the hospital for treatment of injuries that were deemed critical. At the time of this writing, much of the information relating to the accident remains obscured within the investigative efforts of the DeLand Police Department, but some reports have been issued from both this entity and various news outlets that provide some detail on what exactly happened to cause the incident.
Possible Hit-and-Run Under Investigation in Lakeland
Officers working with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office are in the process of investigating a roadside fatality that may be a hit-and-run scenario that took place sometime during the night of Saturday, June 15th, or during the early morning of Sunday, June 16th. Reports issued from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office are currently somewhat bare as the incident was not seen by witnesses, leaving the police struggling with an upsetting lack of details relating to the crash.
