Pile-Up on I-75 Leaves One Dead, Six in the Hospital

A Friday afternoon accident on a Marion County stretch of I-75 has resulted in the death of at least one individual, the hospitalization of several others, and a traffic jam that stretched for miles. Scant information currently exists regarding the incident, and authorities will wait to release further details until all victims are identified and their next of kin informed. This being said, the Florida Highway Patrol’s spokesperson, Lt. Patrick Riodan, did issue a cursory statement regarding the crash that discusses all currently available details.

St. Lucie Man Struck and Killed on Interstate 95

On Tuesday, a man was struck and killed by a passing car while attempting to help a family trapped in their SUV after an accident on a Volusia County stretch of Interstate 95. According to Sgt. Kim Montes, spokesperson for the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred close to mile marker 277. A red car of unknown make was traveling northbound around 1:30 in the morning when it attempted to change lanes. In doing so, the driver of the red car either failed to calculate, or simply did not care about, the distance between it and the Toyota SUV located in the new lane.

Hillsborough County Sergeant Arrested on DUI near Disney World

A sergeant with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office was arrested on Tuesday evening after colliding with a stop sign and a pedestrian crosswalk bridge near Disney World. The Florida Highway Patrol issued a report on the incident that indicates that 46-year-old Timothy Michael Craig was behind the wheel of his Toyota Tundra when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed. When the FHP arrived at the scene around 9:45 at night, they found Craig inside of his car where it came to a stop against the pedestrian bridge spanning Buena Vista Drive and Broadway.

Florida Driver Crashes into Community Recreation Center

One person was reported injured after hitting another vehicle and crashing into a community recreation center. According to local law enforcement, the accident happened in the early evening in Daytona Beach. A female driver was driving her Hyundai when she lost control, hit another vehicle and then crashed into the First Baptist Church Youth Rec Center located at 115 North Ridgewood Avenue.

Orlando Teen Killed in Car vs. Pedestrian Accident

This past Sunday, an accident took place along the Lake County stretch of the Florida Turnpike that resulted in the death of one individual and the serious injury of three others. The Florida Highway Patrol issued a statement on the accident, and their words indicate that the crash resulted from a van suddenly leaving the highway and colliding with the rear of another car parked along the highway’s shoulder. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an accident took place along Interstate 4 in Orange County early on Thursday Morning after a car left the roadway and collided with a line of trees. The report indicates that the car, a 2003 four-door Infiniti, was traveling well above the posted limit on I-4, close to the Beachline, when the individual behind the wheel somehow lost control of the vehicle. Child Pressured to Drive, Crashed in Port St. Lucie

A woman in Port St. Lucie was arrested last tuesday after an incident occurred which boggled the minds of the Port St. Lucie Police Department and led to the hospitalization of several children. According to the Port St. Lucie Police report, the 20-year-old Brittney Powell was driving along Northeast Airoso Boulevard when she turned to the 12-year-old beside her and asked if she wanted to learn how to drive.
