Port Orange Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash

A 76-year-old man believed to be a resident of Port Orange was driving his motorcycle down the  northbound lanes of Tomoka Farms Road on Saturday, June 9th, when an incident occurred that threw him from the vehicle and caused him to sustain fatal injuries.  Reports from the Florida Highway Patrol suggest that the crash took place around 10:00 in the morning, while many motorcyclists throughout Florida were enjoying the beautiful weather. Fatal Motorcycle vs Pickup Accident in DeBary

A Thursday morning accident between a motorcycle and a truck resulted in the death of one individual. The initial report from the Florida Highway Patrol indicates that Pierce, a 28-year-old Deltona resident, was driving a 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle down the western lanes of Dirksen Drive. 4th Fatality Confirmed in Daytona’s Biketoberfest 2017

Biketoberfest 2017 has descended on Daytona once again, bringing with it scads of motorcyclists who want to join together in their love of motorcycles as well as show their solidarity with Florida after Irma.  The festivities are, for the most part, a huge success, however a few incidents have occurred that place an unwelcome strain on the otherwise jubilant atmosphere.  A spate of accidents and fatalities have plagued this year’s Biketoberfest, with the most recent death occurring this past Sunday. Polk City Woman Dies in Motorcycle Accident

Sgt. Kim Montes, the spokesperson for the Florida Highway Patrol, has released partial details about a crash that occurred in Orange County this past Sunday that left one individual dead. The details, while scant, paint a partial picture of the events, although it is likely that the friends and loved ones of the victim will be looking for more answers in the days and weeks to come. What is known is that Jay Tackett, a 59-year-old from Polk City, was driving their motorcycle along State Road 417. Seated behind him on the bike was Dorrie Tackett, also a 59-year-old Polk City resident. For reasons that are not clear at the time of this writing, Jay Ticket decided to change lanes. Orlando Drunk Driver Who Killed Boyfriend Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison

A woman who was so intoxicated that she failed to realize that she had struck and run over her boyfriend has been sentenced to spend the next seven years in state prison. The 26-year-old Orlando woman was driving her SUV early on the morning of June 16 when she struck and killed her 20-year-old boyfriend. The driver pleaded no contest to DUI manslaughter charges and must serve eight years of probation after her release. She must also perform community service, which will include talking to schoolchildren about the dangers of drinking and driving. Orlando personal injury lawyer James O. Alcohol Considered a Contributing Factor in Fatal Motorcycle Accident

Florida Highway Patrol accident investigators believe that alcohol was a contributing factor in a fatal motorcycle accident that claimed the life of an Apopka man on June 5. Police say the 37-year-old suspect was driving his van out of the Loyal Order of Moose lodge parking lot near Orange Blossom Trail and Rosamond Drive around 9:00 that evening when the accident occurred.
