Sanford Man Charged in Fatal DUI Accident
A 39-year-old Sanford man has been charged with DUI manslaughter and other charges in connection with a fatal auto accident in March 2012. Tests confirmed that the man was under the influence of drugs when he caused the fatal Lake County auto accident that claimed the life of a three-year-old girl. Toxicology tests revealed that the man was under the influence of Xanax and Oxycodone on March 13 at levels that impaired his ability to operate his vehicle.
Florida Motorcyclist Killed in DUI Accident
A 25-year-old Orlando man is dead after his motorcycle was struck by a drunk driver on John Young Parkway one recent evening. Orlando police officers investigating the accident say that a 27-year-old Orlando woman faces multiple charges including DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide in connection with the accident. They say that the victim was riding his motorcycle on John Young near the intersection with Oak Ridge Road around 2:50 a.m. when he was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by the Orlando woman. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries and officers administering field sobriety tests found that the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
Orlando Drunk Driver Who Killed Boyfriend Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison
A woman who was so intoxicated that she failed to realize that she had struck and run over her boyfriend has been sentenced to spend the next seven years in state prison. The 26-year-old Orlando woman was driving her SUV early on the morning of June 16 when she struck and killed her 20-year-old boyfriend. The driver pleaded no contest to DUI manslaughter charges and must serve eight years of probation after her release. She must also perform community service, which will include talking to schoolchildren about the dangers of drinking and driving. Orlando personal injury lawyer James O. Auto Accident Claims Two Lives
A couple married in Tallahassee last April was killed and their eight-year-old daughter orphaned in a drunk driving auto accident recently.
