A 44-year-old woman from Atlantic Beach was arrested this week after a toxicology report proved she was under the influence of alcohol when she struck and killed a pedestrian in an accident on May 9th, 2015. The victim was a 24-year-old man who was on vacation in Jacksonville.
He was struck and killed when the woman’s Ford Expedition jumped the curb on the 200 block of Fourth Avenue North. The charges have been pending since the accident, but the recent toxicology report revealed the woman had a blood-alcohol content of .165 at the time of the incident, far exceeding Florida’s legal limit of .08. She will face charges of DUI manslaughter, DUI vehicular homicide, and all three counts of DUI property damage.
