Child Struck by SUV in Volusia County Hit-and-Run
Deputies with the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office are currently trying to locate and apprehend an individual who was driving an SUV when they collided with a young person and then fled the scene of the accident. Reports from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office indicate that it was on Sunday, January 13th, when these events occurred. At the time of this writing, it is not known if the police have managed to progress at all with the investigation.
DUI Charges for Tampa Driver involved in Pre-Christmas Crash
A woman from Tampa was arrested and charged with a DUI on the day before Christmas Eve in Hillsborough County. Reports from the Florida Highway Patrol state that the drunk driver accident began shortly after 2:30 in the morning, as a couple were traveling within a 2009 Kia Spectra down an inside southern lane of North Florida Avenue. The report did not state where the two individuals were coming from, but based on the breathalyzer results it seems safe to say that wherever it was had plenty of alcohol to offer.
Settlement Reached in Case Involving Osceola County Deputy
UPDATE: Early in October, we reported on the rear-end collision between a deputy with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office and a civilian driving a pickup truck. This collision, which was the result of circumstances that remain somewhat murky, resulted in the death of the civilian. The officer involved was allowed to return to duty. A month later, on November 6th, this same officer was once again involved in a rear-end crash. While no one in this second crash lost their lives, there was still significant damage done to several vehicles as well as injuries sustained by several people who were involved in the incident.
Tampa Man Killed in Hillsborough County Crash
Several vehicles were involved in a Hillsborough County crash on January 3rd that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist. Reports from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office state that the incident happened just after 7:45 in the morning, close to the intersection of Dacca Drive and Madison Avenue.
Tampa Woman Dead, Three Injured in U.S. 301 Crash
A violent three-car crash that happened along a stretch of U.S. 301 in Pasco County left one Tampa resident dead and several other individuals suffering from minor injuries. According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place on Wednesday, January 2nd, close to 6:30 in the morning, as many drivers were making their ways back to work after a long holiday weekend.
Man Dies after Being Ejected from Car in Marion County
Officials with the Florida Highway Patrol working within Marion County have issued a statement regarding a fatal auto accident that took place along U.S. 441 on Saturday, December 29th. The reports indicate that the incident happened shortly after midnight, and that it involved at least three separate vehicles.

A severe drunk driver crash that took place in Marion County on Saturday, December 15th, resulted in the death of one person as well as the injury of three others. According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident happened close to 9:30 at night, and involved two cars: a 1991 GMC Sierra and a 2006 Toyota Scion.
Person Hospitalized after Being Struck by SunRail in Orlando
Massive delays for SunRail commuters occurred on Friday, December 7th, after an individual was hit by one of the trains in Orlando. The train accident, which authorities are treating as a suicide attempt, was first reported at close to 6:30 in the morning, along a stretch of the SunRail track in Orlando that runs close to Pine Street, in between Orange Avenue and Garland Avenue.
