Florida Motorcyclist Killed When Car Crosses Center Line
Florida Highway Patrol troopers investigating a fatal motorcycle accident report that an Odessa motorcyclist was killed when a car crossed the centerline into her lane, forcing her to collide with the side of the car. Troopers say the 59-year-old victim was riding her Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on US 27/US 19 when a 1997 Chevrolet Camaro driven by a 51-year-old Greenville man violated her right of way by drifting into oncoming traffic. Troopers say the victim had little or no time to avoid the accident and collided with the left front side of the car.
Auto Accident Claims Two Lives
A couple married in Tallahassee last April was killed and their eight-year-old daughter orphaned in a drunk driving auto accident recently. As recounted in this Tallahassee Democrat article, the Havana couple wed at the Tallahassee Moose Lodge last spring after being together for more than ten years and having a daughter. On the evening of October 9, 2009, the couple was driving to the mother’s house to drop off their daughter at her grandparent’s to spend the night. As the couple waited to merge into traffic on the way, a drunk driver crashed his Dodge pickup truck into the back of their two-door Pontiac.
