Fatal SUV vs Motorcycle Collision in Marion County
A deadly accident took place this past Saturday in Marion County after an SUV collided with the rear end of a motorcycle and threw the cyclist off of the bike and onto the road. Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol issued a statement regarding the evening crash in Ocala that described how Reid, a 64-year-old Ocala resident, was driving his motorcycle in the northbound lanes of County Road 200 close to 7:30 in the evening. Behind Reid on the road was a Chevy Blazer SUV. The driver of the SUV has not been named, but the official statement includes their recounting of the events that took place. Read the rest »
South Daytona Car vs Motorcycle Accident
A rear-end collision between a car and a motorcycle late on Saturday morning in Daytona has left one individual hospitalized and in critical condition. According to authorities with the South Daytona Police Department, the incident occurred just after 11:00 in the morning, along an unnamed roadway and in unknown conditions. What we do know is that the accident involved a motorcycle and a sedan. The motorcycle was on the road behind the sedan when, for reasons that are not clear, it crashed into the rear of the car. Tavares Residents Decry Dangerous Intersection
Owners of restaurants and shops in Tavares are hoping that the local authorities do something about a heavily trafficked intersection off of Highway 441 that borders on Lake Eustis. Over the past several months, this intersection has been the site of several crashes involving single cars after the drivers of these cars failed to fully navigate a turn in the intersection. Because of the proximity to the water, drivers that find themselves trying to over correct a too-wide turn (or those who simply turn to wide and never have time to correct) are at risk of plowing through the flimsy guardrail and into the lake, a situation that occurred last Sunday. Three Dead after Multi-Car Crash in Osceola County
A Friday evening crash in Osceola County has resulted in the death of at least three people after one of several cars involved erupted in flame. According to the initial report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash took place close to 9:20 at night at the intersection of Peavine Road and State Road 60. Shortly before the crash, a four-door Honda, being driven by the 22-year-old Kissimmee resident Garcia, was headed eastbound on State Road 60. In front of the Honda was a Jeep. Man Crashes Car Through Wall of Kissimmee Flea Market
A car crash involving a single vehicle in Kissimmee Florida on Friday morning is currently under investigation by authorities as they seek to discover exactly what happened to cause a vehicle parked in the lot of Vine Street’s 192 Flea Market to crash into the building itself. Fatal Collision on Orange County Turnpike
A crash in Orange County on Sunday night cost two individuals their lives as they were making their way along the Florida Turnpike. The incident took place close to 9:00 in the evening and happened right around where the Turnpike crosses over State Road 429. According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the individuals involved were David Howard and Michelle Green, both of whom were residents of Clermont.
