Man Charged with DUI Manslaughter after Killing Bicyclist in Ocala

Police in Marion County have arrested a man believed to be driving while intoxicated when he struck and killed a bicyclist in the early morning hours of Thursday, March 8th.  A spokesperson for the Ocala Police Department told reporters that the 41-year-old Ocala resident was behind the wheel of a Ford F-150 when he turned down the eastern lanes of Northeast 24th Street at close to 2:00 in the morning.  At the same time, a 33-year-old on a bicycle was driving down the western lane of Northeast 24th Street. Pedestrian Crossing U.S. 192 Struck, Killed in Kissimmee

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol were on hand Sunday morning after they received reports of a woman being struck by a car on U.S. 192. The initial report as filed by the Florida Highway Patrol and released to local and state news agencies gives very little information on the case, but it does paint a fairly comprehensive picture of the general events as they occurred. Kissimmee Woman Killed While Crossing the Street

A 59-year-old female from Kissimmee, Florida was killed while trying to cross the street. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the woman had just exited her bus and was crossing from north to south on US 192 when she stepped in front of a westbound van. Cocoa Pedestrian Struck by Two Cars, Police Search Underway for One Driver

The Florida Highway Patrol spoke to reporters this past Sunday regarding an accident involving a single pedestrian and at least two vehicles in Cocoa that left the pedestrian dead and the FHP and Cocoa Police Department searching for person guilty of a hit-and-run.  The facts that we currently know revolve around a 57-year-old man who was on foot along the northern lanes of U.S. 1, close to Broadway Boulevard, when he was struck by a passing car.   Read the rest »

I-4 Ultimate Workers Report Reckless Driving Placing Them in Danger

I-4 Ultimate workers are becoming more and more frustrated by drivers who, they say, are ignoring the traffic cones placed to prevent cars from coming too close to the men and women working on the construction site. Lake County Hit-and-Run Results in Victim Dying

Police throughout Lake County are actively searching for the driver of a pickup truck believed to be responsible for a hit-and-run death in Leesburg early on Saturday morning.  According to the preliminary report from the Leesburg Police Department, the incident took place around 1:00 in the morning in the parking lot of a business called Via Entertainment located at 10401 U.S. Highway 441. Speeding Car Runs Red Light, Leaves One Dead in Florida

An Orlando area man faces a laundry list of charges following an accident that left one dead. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an FHP trooper was conducting a standard speed enforcement check on Interstate 75 when he clocked a Nissan Altima driven by a 23-year-old male from Plant City, Florida traveling at a speed of 92 miles per hour. One Dead after Single Car Crash in Volusia County

A crash that involved a single vehicle in Seville this past Sunday resulted in the death of one woman and the serious injury of two other individuals after the car in which they were traveling suddenly left the road.  The report from the Florida Highway Patrol members working inside of Volusia County does not provide much information regarding the specifics of the crash itself, and it is not clear if the car rolled over after leaving the road, if it collided with something on the road’s shoulder, or if something else perhaps occurred to ultimately cause the car to erupt into flames.
