Lake County Police Investigating Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident

An article published recently in the Orlando Sentinel describes a hit-and-run pedestrian accident that claimed the life of a 16-year-old Leesburg High student from Okahumpka. A car hit the young man as he walked along County Road 33 on October 4 while talking to his girlfriend on his cell phone. Orlando Hit-and-Run Accident Claims Woman’s Life

A recent WESH Orlando report claims that a woman was killed in an Orlando hit-and-run accident in early September 2009. Law enforcement officials investigating the accident say that the victim was struck and killed on the side of Goldenrod Road and the motorist who hit the woman fled from the scene. Police officials say that the Orlando hit-and-run accident occurred around 3 am when the driver of one car and the occupants of a black Nissan Altima were arguing with each other.

Florida Motorcycle Accident Caused by Drunk Driver Kills One

A man accused of hitting and killing a motorcyclist while driving drunk has entered a not guilty plea to DUI manslaughter charges. This article in the Sun Sentinel reports that the man has a long history of negligent behavior behind the wheel, including a hit-and-run accident, drunk driving convictions, high-speed police chases and many traffic citations. By the time the 31-year-old man was arrested in Miramar in September 2009 and charged with killing a motorcyclist while driving under influence of alcohol, there was a warrant for his arrest in connection with two DUI cases in Maryland.
