INTOXICATED MAN ARRESTED AFTER RUNNING CARS OFF OF ROAD WHILE DRIVING CHILD TO SCHOOL IN LAKE COUNTY
On the morning of Wednesday, January 31st, police in Lake County responded to a call from a distressed driver saying that another vehicle had nearly hit them before running them off of Lake Ella Road. Florida Driver Faces DUI Charges After Colliding with Parked Patrol Car

Drunk Driver who Parked on Train Tracks saved by Passersby
A 34-year-old Orlando woman who parked her car on the Washington Street railroad tracks in downtown Orlando was pulled from her car by good Samaritans moments before a train slammed into the vehicle. Orlando police say that they arrested the woman and charged her with DUI property damage and personal injury. When police arrived on the scene and began questioning the woman, she told them that she had driven her car from "Wall Street" off Orange Avenue in downtown Orlando before parking the vehicle.
One Killed, Four Injured in Suspected Drunk Driving Accident
A 23-year-old Seminole man faces multiple charges in connection with a one-vehicle accident that claimed the life of one of his passengers and injured three others. Florida Highway Patrol troopers say that the man was driving a Ford F150 pickup truck southbound on Worchester Drive near Gainsborough Drive when he lost control of the truck on a curve and crashed into a utility pole and stop sign before colliding with a tree and coming to a stop. The accident occurred in a residential neighborhood near the University of Central Florida.
Judge Overturns Appeals Court Ruling in DUI “Wheelie” Case
Last month, we wrote about an Apopka man whose lawyer said he was not to blame for a fatal DUI motorcycle accident because the rider was popping a wheelie at the time and his lights were impossible for a driver to see. The man had already served three years of a 12-year sentence in connection with the accident. In September, an appeals court agreed with the man’s lawyer and threw out his DUI manslaughter conviction and the rest of the sentence, saying that the rider had been riding recklessly with his front wheel in the air and could not be seen.
