Pedestrian Killed while Crossing Orange Blossom Trail

A person driving a Jeep Cherokee down Orange Blossom Trail in Orange County was reportedly unable to avoid a collision with a pedestrian early on Sunday morning, an accident which resulted in the death of the pedestrian and a continuing investigation by members of the Florida Highway Patrol.  The initial report from the Florida Highway Patrol states that the pedestrian was a 37-year-old from Cocoa who was on foot on the western side of Orange Blossom Trail.  Read the rest »

Sarasota County Police Search for Driver Behind Road Rage Hit-and-Run

Video taken by a concerned civilian was recently released by the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office in relation to an incident that took place this past Sunday evening along a two-lane one-way road in Sarasota.  The video, which was taken by a motorist several car lengths away from the incident in question, shows a motorcycle driving beside a grey Mazda.  Read the rest »

Horse Dead, Trucker Injured after Collision in Polk City

Two truck drivers and one horse were involved in a violent crash that took place in Polk City this past Wednesday morning.  Deputies with the Polk County Police Department wrote a report that detailed some of the elements of the early morning crash, although much of the information regarding the incident is unknown.  It is clear that the crash, which happened inside of Polk County, took place at close to 4:45 in the morning along State Road 33 and close to where this road intersects with Green Pond Road. Polk County Hit-and-Run Injures Teenage Jogger

Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office are on the lookout for an individual believed to be responsible for a hit-and-run involving a 17-year-old from Haines City.  The official report from the authorities with Polk County indicates that the teenager was jogging around the area of Crest Lane shortly after 8:00 in the evening on Tuesday, April 4th, when a pickup truck initially described only as being “dark-colored” came through the area.  Read the rest »

Pedestrian Pushing Bike Struck by Car in DeLand

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol arrived at the scene of a crash that involved a car and a person walking a bicycle in DeLand on the morning of Wednesday, April 4th, and are currently investigating the incident to see if there is any outstanding culpability for either of the individuals involved in the case.  The report that the Volusia County  troopers issued regarding the incident outlines the currently verifiable facts, however there is still much to be discovered and therefore the initial report is not complete. Palm Coast Woman Arrested after Drunken Collision

Towards the end of March, on a Friday, deputies with the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office received a call alerting them to a possible crash at an intersection along the Palm Coast Parkway in Palm Coast.  According to the caller, they and another witness had observed a brown Volkswagen Jetta driving erratically, and when the car passed through the intersection of Palm Coast Parkway and Cypress Point Parkway it had collided with another vehicle. Man Crashes into Winter Park Home, Claims to be FBI Agent

Police in Winter Park faced a bewildering scenario after receiving a call indicating that a collision had taken place between a truck and a private residence.  According to the official report from the Winter Park Police Department, the ordeal began after a man behind the wheel of a large truck (the report did not say if it was a pickup truck or some other, larger, vehicle) drove off of the road and directly into the side of someone’s home.  Someone, perhaps the homeowner, then called the police. Ocala Mom En Route to Get Kids, Arrested on DUI Charges

A woman in Ocala is currently facing DUI charges after deputies arrested her while she made her way to retrieve her children from a local school.  The official report from deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office indicates that they were alerted by a witness to the woman’s driving.  This witness told the deputies that a tan Acura was driving in an erratic pattern down the road, weaving in and out of lanes, and at one point leaving its lane entirely and traveling down the incorrect side of the highway for a sustained period of time.
