A fatal auto accident involving a person exhibiting bizarre behavior is being investigated within Boca Raton by members of the Delray Police Department. According to the reports issued by this law enforcement organization following the initial crash, it was during the day on Sunday, April 11th, that a federal judge from New York was walking along the sidewalk within the city when a car being driven by a 23-year-old approached down the road. The judge, a 75-year-old, was walking with or close to a 6-year-old child, who was also involved in the incident.
Witnesses to the crash stated that the 23-year-old was driving aggressively and seemingly without full control over the vehicle as they made their way down the busy roadway. Either to pass stopped traffic, because they momentarily lost control of their car, or because they wanted to inflict harm, the 23-year-old driver of the vehicle left the roadway and began driving down the sidewalk. It was at this point that the vehicle struck both the 75-year-old and the 6-year-old.
After hitting the two pedestrians, the driver then fled from the area and into Delray Beach. A short time after entering Delray Beach the 23-year-old crashed their car a second time, although now without other people being involved.
Paramedics and EMTs arrived to tend to the 23-year-old, and they reported that it was shortly after the person was placed in an ambulance and began traveling to a hospital that they started to assault medical personnel as well as identify herself as Harry Potter. After the individual was sedated, their purse was searched and a drug cocktail known as “bath salts” was discovered.
The 75-year-old judge was also transported to a nearby hospital, where she later died as a result of her injuries. Following reports of their death, tributes to the late judge began to pour in from throughout the region of her practice.
The 23-year-old driver remained in police custody throughout the weekend, held on a $60,000 bond.
The 6-year-old child was also transported to a hospital, where he was being treated for serious injuries that he is expected to recover from.
