Senator Rubio’s Daughter Injured in Florida Golf Cart Accident
Senator Marco Rubio’s 12-year-old daughter is listed in stable condition at Miami Children’s Hospital after a golf cart accident in Lakewood Crest. The girl was reportedly visiting classmates in a private gated community when the golf cart she was riding on was involved in a collision. She was airlifted to Miami Children’s Hospital with a head injury and is currently listed in fair condition in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
Orlando Police Issuing Tickets to Prevent Pedestrian Accidents
Orlando police officers and Orange County deputies have begun issuing tickets to drivers who don’t yield to pedestrians in crosswalks. Law enforcement agencies in our area recently rolled out Operation Best Foot Forward as part of a concerted effort to cut down on the number of people killed and injured in pedestrian accidents in Orange County and the City of Orlando. Undercover officers have begun strolling across crosswalks at intersections throughout Orange County and sending offenders to uniformed officers nearby to receive tickets.
Sanford Man Charged in Fatal DUI Accident
A 39-year-old Sanford man has been charged with DUI manslaughter and other charges in connection with a fatal auto accident in March 2012. Tests confirmed that the man was under the influence of drugs when he caused the fatal Lake County auto accident that claimed the life of a three-year-old girl. Toxicology tests revealed that the man was under the influence of Xanax and Oxycodone on March 13 at levels that impaired his ability to operate his vehicle.
