Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol in Osceola County are in the process of investigating an incident that took place a week ago near Kissimmee that left one individual dead after his motorcycle collided with a residence located near the intersection of Salsona Avenue and West Virginia Drive. While many of the circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear, we do know that it was sometime during the morning of Sunday, March 25th, when a 30-year-old Kissimmee resident was riding a motorcycle down the southern lane of Salsona Avenue.
When the motorcyclist reached the intersection of Salsona Avenue and West Virginia Drive, he traveled through the intersection and then immediately departed from the roadway and began to drive the bike across the yard of a private residence at full speed.
The report states that the man on the motorcycle then collided head-on with the northern side of the home and was subsequently thrown from his vehicle and into a row of bushes nearby.
Perhaps the most difficult factor in this case is that nobody was around the home at the time of the incident, and it is not clear just when the crash took place. Troopers told reporters that they arrived at the house around 11:00 in the morning, but they made clear to note that this does little to pinpoint the actual time of the accident. What the Florida Highway Patrol troopers did not state is how they were first alerted to the presence of the injured motorcyclist on the home’s front lawn: was it by the family after they had woken up? Was it a passing motorist who noticed something unusual in the front yard of the home? All we know is that by the time the police and paramedics reached the area there was nothing to be done for the motorcyclist and he was declared dead at the scene.
The accident is now a part of an investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol as they seek to uncover more answers to the incident so as to provide the family of the deceased individual with a modicum of closure. It is expected that additional updates to this story will emerge from local news sources as the investigation progresses.
