38-Year-Old Tampa Man Killed in a Head-On Collision on U.S. 41

Authorities in the Tampa area are struggling to come to terms with a tragic auto accident that occurred along U.S. 41 which claimed the life of a 38-year-old man early this past Saturday evening. According to preliminary crash reports released by the Florida Highway Patrol, the victim was killed after a head-on collision with another driver forced his vehicle off the highway and into a roadside power utility pole.

It was approximately 6:45 p.m. on May 15^th, 2021, when officers with the Florida Highway Patrol operating within Hillsborough County were dispatched to the scene of a deadly car crash involving two motorists on U.S. 41 close to the Manatee RV Park in Ruskin. Upon their arrival at the accident site, they quickly discovered one driver suffering from serious injuries stuck in a badly mangled vehicle which was trapped underneath a set of damaged, downed power lines. Hillsborough County first responders immediately sprung into action to rescue the 38-year-old man, however, despite their best efforts, emergency medical teams were unable to revive the victim and he passed away before he could be transported to a local hospital. The 41-year-old driver of the other vehicle only received minor injuries in the collision and was treated at the scene.

Statements retrieved from witnesses to the severe auto accident indicate that the 41-year-old driver was travelling southbound down U.S. 41 when he attempted to maneuver around the victim’s car in the right-hand lane, but instead clipped the back-end of his vehicle causing it to careen onto the shoulder of the road right before striking a power utility pole adjacent to the busy highway.

It is unclear at this time whether or not the 41-year-old driver will face any legal consequences or charges for his role in this truly tragic collision.
