DUI Arrest Made after Daytona Beach Crash

On Thursday afternoon, the 33-year-old Kimberly Joyce was driving her car through Daytona Beach, close to the intersection of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Unfortunately, she was driving on the wrong side of the road. Her conduct was noticed by bystanders who phoned the police to alert them to the presence of the erratic driver. Tractor-Trailer Overturns in Mims

A tractor-trailer traveling down I-95 early on Thursday morning became the primary focus of an accident that resulted in the complete shut-down of all the lanes in either direction of the major traffic artery. While the complete details around the accident are not included in the initial report from the Florida Highway Patrol, it seems that the incident took place close to the county line separating Brevard County and Volusia County, in the city of Mims. One Dead after Head-On Collision in Osceola County

A head-on collision along State Road 60 in south Osceola County this past Sunday resulted in the death of one individual and the hospitalization of another. The Florida Highway Patrol, speaking about the event, said that it occurred close to 10:20 in the evening, when an individual named Natasha Johnson Smith, a 27-year-old resident of Spring Hill, began attempting to pass drivers ahead of them on State Road 60. One Killed in Early Morning Crash in Volusia County

Around 3:30 in the morning on Saturday, a Dodge pickup was driving west on U.S. Highway 92 in Volusia County. For reasons that are not immediately clear, the driver of this pickup, a 27-year-old man named Justin Wagner, activated the hazard lights of the van and began to make a turn off of the highway onto the right shoulder of the road. While in the process of leaving the highway, Wagner was suddenly jarred out of his plans when his car was struck from behind by van, causing both vehicles to receive a tremendous amount of damage. Orlando Man Struck and Killed by SunRail Train

This past Monday, a 70-year-old man from Longwood was attempting to cross the tracks of a SunRail train when he was struck and killed. The man, named as Steward Lashley, was an Orlando resident who was a well known face in his community as well as within the Christian Sharing Center in Longwood. According to those who knew him, Lashley was an avid biker who volunteered many personal hours towards fixing bikes that were then either sold through the thrift store at the Christian Sharing Center or donated to specific clients of the Sharing Center. Palm Bay Students Struck by Cars in Separate Incidents

In two separate and alarming incidents in Palm Bay, two students from different schools were struck by passing vehicles last Thursday.  In one of the accidents, the driver of the vehicle responsible for the collision attempted to flee from the scene, but were subsequently captured by Palm Bay deputies.  According to the report from the Palm Bay Police Department, the first of the accidents happened just before 7:00 in the morning, as a 5-year-old student of the Odyssey Charter School and his father were crossing a crosswalk at the entrance of the school. Apopka Woman’s Airbags Deploy Due to Potholes

An Apopka woman experienced an alarming incident on Saturday while driving down Sandpiper Street in Apopka. Gina Wendorf was on her way home in her Nissan Acura when she drove through several potholes along the road. Wendorf’s statement indicates that she did not see the two potholes before driving through them, and that the she only became aware of the large pits within the asphalt when her car began lurching violently and unexpectedly.
