Orlando police officers are investigating an early morning accident involving a car that drove into a metal recycling center at 3 a.m. one recent morning. Police say that the woman driving the car drove it into the offices of the Brothers Scrap Metals public recycling center at 420 South Norton Avenue in Orlando. They say that the incident was recorded on video from the center’s surveillance camera. The video shows the office immediately prior and for a few moments after the car drove through the front of the building.
The video shows that shortly after her vehicle came to a stop, the woman got out of her car and began walking erratically through the wreckage of the office. Investigators say the woman was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center for observation after the accident, but they don’t believe she was injured in the crash. Fortunately, the building was empty when the accident occurred. Police report that charges against the driver are pending and will be announced when their investigation is concluded.
