After gaining national attention as one of the survivors of a mass shooting that claimed the lives of three individuals and injured twenty others during a rap concert at El Mula Banquet Hall in late May, local Miami rapper Tigoose was tragically killed in a two-car crash outside Liberty City last Friday morning.
According to investigative reports from the Miami-Dade Police Department, 28-year-old Christopher “Tigoose” Ozuna was driving an Infiniti G37 shortly after midnight on June 4th, 2021 along Northwest 79th Street. As he approached the road’s intersection with 10th Avenue, he crashed into another vehicle occupied by a pregnant female driver and her six kids. The incredible force from the collision caused both vehicles to erupt into flames, with the second car being completely engulfed by the time rescuers arrived at the scene.
Within a matter of minutes, Miami-Dade emergency responders rushed to the crash site and immediately started to administer multiple life-saving medical techniques to the injured victims. The young mother and her children were transported to Ryder Trauma Center where they are said to be in stable condition after receiving treatment for minor injuries. Sadly, Mr. Ozuna had been unable to exit the burning Infiniti, presumably due to the severe nature of the injuries sustained in the initial collision, and he passed away before EMTs could save him. Eighteen-year-old Jeremiah Rollins, a passenger in the Infiniti, also died at the scene.
Born and raised in Liberty City, Christopher Ozuna leaves behind a longtime girlfriend and two young daughters, who were the light of his life, according to family members. The up-and-coming rapper was dedicated to his craft and definitely believed “he was going to make it to the top,” his girlfriend told the Miami-Herald. “It’s crazy. He dodges bullets and then he died like that,” she said.
Although a few relatives of Ozuna believe there is some sort of connection between the fatal accident and the nightclub shooting, authorities with the Miami-Dade Police Department have yet to tie the two events together and have not released any further details about either investigation.
