Multi-Vehicle Crash in Altamonte Springs Kills Father and Infant Child
On the morning of Friday, October 16th, 2015, six cars were involved in a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Road 434 and State Road 436 in Altamonte Springs. As a result, six people were hospitalized and three of those were found to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Fatal Brevard County Head-On Collision
On October 10th, 2015, a Brevard County woman was struck and killed in a head-on collision with a vehicle that was headed in the opposite direction. 20-year-old Keri DeMott was headed westbound on State Road 407 near I-95 in Orlando during the very early hours of the morning. At the same time, 22-year-old Keith Pumphrey of Melbourne was headed eastbound. Around 12:30 a.m., Pumphrey’s 2004 Honda Pilot is reported to have drifted into the westbound lanes, hitting DeMott’s 2001 Honda CR-V head-on. When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, Pumphrey was found to be in critical condition and taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center; unfortunately, his accidental victim was not so lucky. Keri DeMott was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Grammy-Nominated DJ Killed in Florida Auto Accident
Luis Borges, a well-known Venezuelan DJ who contributed to the production of an album that received a Latin Grammy nomination in 2012, was struck and killed in an accident near Lake Buena Vista in late August. He was reportedly on vacation in Orlando to celebrate his upcoming 35th birthday. News of the musician’s death quickly generated a storm of social media posts from fans, mourning the death of the DJ who was popular in Latin America for his dance and electronic music.

Two Florida Women Killed in Wrong Way Accident on I-95
A head-on collision Saturday night has left two Pompano Beach residents dead. Two females in their early 20’s were in the southbound lanes of I-95 when their Toyota Matrix collided head-on with a northbound 2006 Jeep Cherokee. Upon impact, both of the vehicles caught fire. Both vehicles were engulfed in flames by the time first responders reached the scene of the accident.

Florida State Trooper and 2 Others Injured in Crash on I-95
Shortly before 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning, two women traveling on I-95 were injured when their vehicle slammed into the back of a stopped Florida Highway Patrol cruiser. Trooper Ronald Roberts had just finished working a previous accident in the area and was almost ready to head back out onto the interstate at the time of the crash. All three were taken to area hospitals with serious injuries, however none of the injuries appears to be life-threatening.

West Palm Beach Man Jailed in Road Rage Incident
A West Palm Beach man was arrested on Monday under the suspicion that he was the aggressor in a road rage incident that took place July 6. On the day in question, a mother along with her two small children and their grandmother in her vehicle, had stopped at McDonald’s to get some lunch in the drive-thru. They had just left the drive-thru window and were sitting at a stop sign waiting to turn out on to Military Trail, when the man driving the SUV behind them began to shout profanities and impatiently honk his horn. The woman waited for traffic to clear and proceeded onto Military Trail.

Reported Road Rage Incident Ends with Arrest of Lake County Deputy
Thomas Jones Thompson, a Lake County sheriff’s detention deputy, has been arrested following an alleged road rage incident that occurred Monday night. According to police statements, Charles Christopher and his wife Sarah had just left Taco Bell on US 441 in Mount Dora, when Thompson pulled up next to them. Thompson then ordered them to pull over. Because Thompson was driving his personal vehicle with no police markings, the couple did not believe him to be law enforcement. Thompson told the couple he had witnessed their vehicle running two stop signs and then pointed a gun at them.

Florida Church Van Crashes in Canal
A community was shaken last month when a church van carrying 18 people crashed into a canal in rural south Florida. The crash near La Belle in Glades County killed eight people and injured many others. The driver of the van missed a stop sign at an unlit T-intersection, and ended up driving the vehicle across four lanes and through tall grass into the canal.
