A car crash involving a single vehicle in Kissimmee Florida on Friday morning is currently under investigation by authorities as they seek to discover exactly what happened to cause a vehicle parked in the lot of Vine Street’s 192 Flea Market to crash into the building itself.  Pictures from the site show a white Toyota sedan poking out of the flea market’s wall while several members of the fire department stand by and assess the damage.

A statement from the Kissimmee police outlines the details that are currently known; however, a full investigation is still underway.  It seems that the crash, which was phoned in to authorities around 9:00 in the morning, happened when the unnamed driver of the Toyota turned his vehicle on in the parking lot of the 192 Flea Market.  At the time, the car was facing the market.  The driver claimed that he did not place the car into gear before or after he turned it on and that the resulting crash was something he cannot explain.

When the ignition in the vehicle caught, the car suddenly jumped forward.  Because the car was parked close enough to the building, the sudden leap meant that the vehicle actually crashed through one of the market’s walls and into one of the stalls.  The woman who owns the stall where the car crashed was, fortunately, not in the building at the time of the accident.  She later told authorities and reporters that she was running late to her booth.  Had she arrived to the market on time, it is entirely possible that she herself would have been injured or worse as a result of the accident.

The report did not detail the extent of the damage caused by the crash to the building or to the wares of the woman operating the booth.  It does not seem as though anyone was injured as a result of the crash, although based on the pictures it seems that the driver of the Toyota was forced to exit the vehicle from one of its rear doors.  As the investigation unearths further details they will be released.
