Motorcycle Accident That Killed Florida Deputy a Common and Tragic Theme
The motorcycle accident that claimed the life of a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Deputy inspired a local group of riders to speak out in an effort to raise awareness about the scope of motorcycle accident problems in our state. The deputy was killed when a car turned directly into his path, giving him no time to avoid striking the car broadside. The group claims that these types of accidents are far too common, and Orlando motorcycle accident attorney James O. Cunningham completely agrees with them. Since he began practicing law in 1977, he has assisted countless riders injured in accidents where a driver has violated the right of way by pulling out in front of a rider.
Orlando Area Doctor Faces Charges In Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident
An Orlando chiropractor has been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motorcycle accident in February that claimed the life of a Fort Myers woman. The Lake Mary doctor who describes himself as one of Central Florida’s top doctors was booked into the Seminole County jail recently but released shortly thereafter on $50,000 bail for his involvement in the Feb. 26 hit-and-run motorcycle accident that killed the 50-year-old rider.
New Coalition Best Foot Forward Hopes to Make Orlando Pedestrians Safer
Due to the significant number of pedestrian accident deaths and injuries in Florida each year, a new group called Best Foot Forward has been formed to help make our state’s roads safer for pedestrians. The group includes civic leaders, law enforcement, Winter Park Health Foundation and MetroPlan Orlando. The initiative was announced earlier this week, and their goal is to reduce pedestrian deaths and injuries by ten percent each year for the next five years. There is an extreme need for a group such as this one due to the fact that the Orlando metro area is consistently ranked one of the most dangerous areas in the country for pedestrians. On average, two pedestrians are injured every day, and one pedestrian dies each week after being hit by a car.
