New Smyrna Beach Police Officer Crashes While Pursuing Suspected Shoplifter
It was close to 5:00 in the evening on Thursday, April 25th, when police within New Smyrna Beach began to receive reports of a suspected shoplifting incident at a Bealls outlet store. Several officers responded to the report, which indicated that the suspect had already fled the store and was driving away from the area. When the officers reached the area, they found that the suspect was no longer at the shopping center, but it took a seemingly short amount of time for an officer with the New Smyrna Beach Police Department to locate the suspect as they were traveling down the 3100 block of State Road 44.
