Sarasota County Police Search for Driver Behind Road Rage Hit-and-Run

Video taken by a concerned civilian was recently released by the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office in relation to an incident that took place this past Sunday evening along a two-lane one-way road in Sarasota.  The video, which was taken by a motorist several car lengths away from the incident in question, shows a motorcycle driving beside a grey Mazda.  Read the rest »

Polk County Hit-and-Run Injures Teenage Jogger

Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office are on the lookout for an individual believed to be responsible for a hit-and-run involving a 17-year-old from Haines City.  The official report from the authorities with Polk County indicates that the teenager was jogging around the area of Crest Lane shortly after 8:00 in the evening on Tuesday, April 4th, when a pickup truck initially described only as being “dark-colored” came through the area.  Read the rest »

Cocoa Pedestrian Struck by Two Cars, Police Search Underway for One Driver

The Florida Highway Patrol spoke to reporters this past Sunday regarding an accident involving a single pedestrian and at least two vehicles in Cocoa that left the pedestrian dead and the FHP and Cocoa Police Department searching for person guilty of a hit-and-run.  The facts that we currently know revolve around a 57-year-old man who was on foot along the northern lanes of U.S. 1, close to Broadway Boulevard, when he was struck by a passing car.   Read the rest »

Lake County Hit-and-Run Results in Victim Dying

Police throughout Lake County are actively searching for the driver of a pickup truck believed to be responsible for a hit-and-run death in Leesburg early on Saturday morning.  According to the preliminary report from the Leesburg Police Department, the incident took place around 1:00 in the morning in the parking lot of a business called Via Entertainment located at 10401 U.S. Highway 441. Christmas Eve Hit-and-Run in Volusia County Totals Car

A woman in New Smyrna Beach is still amazed she survived a hit-and-run collision that took place on Christmas Eve in Volusia County. According to the official report, Cobb was driving down State Road 44, when her car was suddenly struck by a black pickup truck. The force of the collision sent Cobb’s vehicle wildly spinning across the road. Cobb says she could see a lighting pole rapidly approaching, but at the last moment she managed to swerve her car away from the solid object and into a ditch. Read the rest »

Driver Overdoses, Hits Nine Vehicles on Glenmore Trail

An Orange County, Florida man was arrested after he overdosed and crashed his SUV into nine other vehicles – in four separate crash scenes. All the damaged vehicles were parked at a nearby apartment complex. The Florida Highway Patrol found the 35 year old driver passed out on the ground next to his vehicle. Read the rest »

Police Asking for Help in Connection with Fatal Florida Hit-and-Run Accident

July 24, 2010

Accident investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol are asking for anyone who may be a witness of a fatal Central Florida hit-and-run accident to contact them as soon as possible. According to police, an Astatula man was walking along Duda Road near County Road 448A early on the morning of June 21, 2010 when a large truck struck and killed him. The truck then fled the scene.
