Person Hospitalized after Being Struck by SunRail in Orlando

Massive delays for SunRail commuters occurred on Friday, December 7th, after an individual was hit by one of the trains in Orlando. The train accident, which authorities are treating as a suicide attempt, was first reported at close to 6:30 in the morning, along a stretch of the SunRail track in Orlando that runs close to Pine Street, in between Orange Avenue and Garland Avenue.

Longwood Pedestrian Killed in SunRail Commuter Train Accident

September 25, 2017

A Florida man was fatally injured in a pedestrian vs. train accident last Thursday afternoon at approximately 3 p.m. when he stepped onto a set of train tracks near State Road 434 after the crossing arms had already been lowered. The train was unable to stop in time and the man was subsequently struck by the SunRail commuter which was travelling northbound near the city of Longwood. Read the rest »

Orlando Man Struck and Killed by SunRail Train

This past Monday, a 70-year-old man from Longwood was attempting to cross the tracks of a SunRail train when he was struck and killed. The man, named as Steward Lashley, was an Orlando resident who was a well known face in his community as well as within the Christian Sharing Center in Longwood. According to those who knew him, Lashley was an avid biker who volunteered many personal hours towards fixing bikes that were then either sold through the thrift store at the Christian Sharing Center or donated to specific clients of the Sharing Center.
