Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Orange City Crosswalk

A spokesperson for Orange City recently issued a statement regarding the death of a pedestrian within Orange City that happened after they were struck by a car on Saturday, October 20th. According to this official statement, the victim was a 49-year-old woman from Orange City who was walking along either U.S. Highway 17/92 or New York Avenue at close to 9:00 at night when they reached the intersection of these two roadways and decided to try and cross the street.

No Charges after Homeless Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Daytona Beach

In a strange turn of events, an investigation into the death of a 34-year-old homeless woman that was struck and killed by a car on State Road A1A in Daytona Beach has likely reached a conclusion that has resulted in no charges being filed against the driver of the truck that caused her death.

Two Pedestrians Hit while Crossing State Road 436 in Orange County

The Florida Highway Patrol recently responded to a pedestrian accident that happened along State Road 436 in Orange County on Wednesday, August 8th, that resulted in the severe injury of two individuals who were on foot. It seems that these people, a 21-year-old and a 28-year-old, were both from the state of New Jersey and that they were walking along State Road 436 when they decided to cross the street.

Three Struck by Car While Crossing Apopka Street

An incident that took place in the city of Apopka on Wednesday, July 11th,  left several people, including two children, injured and in the hospital.  According to an official report by troopers with the Florida Highway patrol, several people were standing along the side of Thompson Road, waiting for a break in traffic before they began to cross the street.  Read the rest »

Kissimmee Pedestrian Struck and Killed

Police with the Florida Highway Patrol are in the process of investigating a deadly collision between a car and a 54-year-old man from Kissimmee that took place on the evening of Saturday, July 7th. Initial reports on the incident are not completely clear on just what happened, but we do know that it was just before 12:00 at night when the individual was struck by a car while walking down Orange Blossom Trail. Pedestrian Killed while Crossing Orange Blossom Trail

A person driving a Jeep Cherokee down Orange Blossom Trail in Orange County was reportedly unable to avoid a collision with a pedestrian early on Sunday morning, an accident which resulted in the death of the pedestrian and a continuing investigation by members of the Florida Highway Patrol.  The initial report from the Florida Highway Patrol states that the pedestrian was a 37-year-old from Cocoa who was on foot on the western side of Orange Blossom Trail.  Read the rest »

Pedestrian Pushing Bike Struck by Car in DeLand

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol arrived at the scene of a crash that involved a car and a person walking a bicycle in DeLand on the morning of Wednesday, April 4th, and are currently investigating the incident to see if there is any outstanding culpability for either of the individuals involved in the case.  The report that the Volusia County  troopers issued regarding the incident outlines the currently verifiable facts, however there is still much to be discovered and therefore the initial report is not complete. Kissimmee Woman Killed While Crossing the Street

A 59-year-old female from Kissimmee, Florida was killed while trying to cross the street. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the woman had just exited her bus and was crossing from north to south on US 192 when she stepped in front of a westbound van. Cocoa Pedestrian Struck by Two Cars, Police Search Underway for One Driver

The Florida Highway Patrol spoke to reporters this past Sunday regarding an accident involving a single pedestrian and at least two vehicles in Cocoa that left the pedestrian dead and the FHP and Cocoa Police Department searching for person guilty of a hit-and-run.  The facts that we currently know revolve around a 57-year-old man who was on foot along the northern lanes of U.S. 1, close to Broadway Boulevard, when he was struck by a passing car.   Read the rest »
